My name is Jane Mailhiot and I’m from Boston, Massachusetts. I am a senior at the University of Arizona studying Marketing in the Eller College of Management. As a first generation student, I’ve definitely had to put in the work toward higher education. However, despite not being a walk in the park, I truly wouldn’t have it any other way.
Three years ago, I arrived in Tucson hungry for new experiences and eager to take my life into my own hands. Drawn in by Eller College’s opportunistic environment, I found myself in the perfect place to catalyze my future goals of representing fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands.
My experiences and acquisitions align well with my aspirations, as I continually immerse myself in sales, public relations, branding, social media, and creative content. My innate creativity has aided my success in managing social media platforms, strategizing marketing and PR tactics, formulating compelling branding, and growing brand exposure.
In my managerial position at Steve Madden, I have utilized my extensive knowledge of current trends to sell products to prospective customers. My interpersonal communication skills have enabled me to surpass daily sales quotas by guiding customers toward products which accommodate their needs and expectations.
In the ever-changing global marketplace, my ability to think outside the box assists in troubleshooting challenges, inspiring peers, generating ideas, and refining strategies. Furthermore, my advanced knowledge of social media and various digital platforms adheres to contemporary implementations of technology in the marketplace.
Throughout all professional endeavors, I strive to maintain high standards of creative and analytical thinking, interpersonal and collaborative skills, as well as cultivate my entrepreneurial spirit.
I envision my professional identity as someone who burns the rule book and blazes her own trail. I want to build new blueprints that are not confined by established societal standards. No matter what roles I take on, I always hope to inspire others in the process.
